about

Especially in activist circles it is widespread to engage in large-scale self-exploitation, under the guise of "volunteer work" and often not even recognized as such, against the background of a major goal and in confrontation with the present conditions. We want to point out and promote other social concepts, be it through cultural events or educational work, through demonstrations, through the media, etc. We want to live in a society in which no person is forced to constantly optimize him- or herself or to rush from one precisely timed obligation to the next, in which solidarity with one another is the most important constant and no person is obliged to be exploited by means of alienated wage work. At the same time, however, we are all subject to the constraints of this system and cannot escape it. We must go to paid work and do reproduction work. It seems impossible to make really right decisions when it comes to reconciling all things that seem important to you - at least that's the impression that comes up all the time.

lyrics

my life's a contradiction, i am always torn inside
and always questioning my biography, an erratic turning tide
so what the fuck are you going to do, kid?
main thing: more than just complain, forever ratting at the chains
more than just quite pretend

how far is too far? conformism, confrontation
at some point you've got to choose your way - i did, do i have to stay?
with prospects shining bright it's not easy to not lose sight

wage work belongs abolished, optimization craze sucks
for this purpose, for this outlook, in fact we work 'til we go nuts
in fact we optimize our friendships, our leisure, ourselves
and we better don't ask ourselves whether it's worth or not

withstand the contradictions

my life's a single restlessness, i'm always on the run
each week is seven to-do-lists, until all tasks and me are done
guilty conscience and demands to myself
it's not easy to confess this cocktail just won't let me rest
i can't stand lazyness and i hate me for that

wage work belongs abolished, optimization craze sucks
for this purpose, for this outlook, in fact we work 'til we go nuts
in fact we optimize our friendships, our leisure, ourselves
and we better don't ask ourselves whether it's worth or not
we have to find a way. we have to find a way. we have to find a way.
there has to be a way.
